Leveraging PROMETHEE to Map Solutions Approach for Eliminates the Barriers of Women’s Professional Advancement in Indian Urban Planning and Urban Development Industries

To prioritise the solutions, one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods (PROMETHEE) is used. To address the key barriers, a brainstorming session with 33 experts is organized to rate the facilitators using a pairwise comparison survey. The Finding of the study is to establishing women-centric infrastructure in cities, promoting gender mainstreaming in organizations, implementing mentorship policies, reforming governance practices to promote equity and inclusivity, and raising awareness about the barriers, women face in career professionals. The primary focus of this study is to identify and prioritise the key facilitators that can help women to overcome barriers for their career advancement in urban planning by identifying practical solutions. This study unlatches the door for policy- makers, urban planners, researchers and local government on how to prioritize strategies that will support women’s professional growth and helps to address the barriers they face in urban planning and urban development.
