300 _aP 67-73
520 _aHypertension poses a substantial public health challenge in India, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of research trends to enable effective interventions. Bibliometric analysis (BA) offers a systematic approach to evaluate publication output, thematic trends and collaborative networks within the field. BA was conducted utilizing data from the Dimensions database to identify hypertension research publications in India from 2014 to 2023. Various parameters including publication output, keywords, citations, authors, organizations, and countries were analyzed using VOSviewer. A total of 309,789 publications were identified, predominantly comprising articles. Temporal analysis revealed a consistent increase in publication output over the decade, with notable thematic concentrations in keywords such as pregnancy, infection and syndrome. Top-cited articles primarily focused on clinical studies, reflecting an evidence-based approach. Collaborative networks among authors, organizations and countries were evident, with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences emerging as a leading contributor. This BA provides valuable insights into the hypertension research landscape in India. Collaborative efforts, thematic concentrations and emerging trends identified in this analysis underscore the importance of evidence-based approaches and collaborative endeavors in addressing the growing burden of hypertension. These findings could serve as a foundation for policymakers, healthcare practitioners, and researchers to develop targeted interventions and strategies for effective hypertension management in India.
